Lyndzi Wells - Owner and Executive Artistic DirectorLyndzi Barnes
Executive Artistic Director

Lyndzi began dancing when she was seven years old and began teaching when she was sixteen. She has been trained by master choreographers such as Corey Finn, Shauna Noland, Kourtni Lind, Justin Giles, Bobby Newberg, Jackie Sleight, Tucker Barkley, Shane Sparks and many more choreographers from the L.A. and N.Y. areas. Her dance experience includes performances in Carnival: The Choreographers Ball, non-profit performances, SYTYCD season 5, Millennium Dance Complex, Broadway Dance Center, and the Edge Performing Arts Center. Her cutting-edge and versatile choreography has been rewarded at competitions and has received choreography and entertaining awards from numerous competitions. In her first two years of owning the studio she gained the title of Top 60 Studios in the Nation by “The Federation of Dance Competitions.” She also won ‘GOLD’ in choreography by The Gazette, Best of Springs 2011. Her style pushes every dancer she has to the limits and she looks forward to teaching your dancer.

Alyssa began dancing at the age of 5 and started with Robin Moore in 1995. She participated on the competitive dance team and the Pikes Peak Performance Company at the original Robins Danceworks and was in several award winning routines. She has attended several conventions and competitions nation wide. Her specialties are Tap, Acro, and Jazz. Alyssa’s passion to teach began when she was 17 and has continued throughout the years. In addition to teaching dance she has also received a Bachelors of Arts degree with a focus in Interior Design from the Art Institute of Colorado. Since graduating she has decided that her goal is to not only be a designer but to remember her passion for dance and the love of teaching.

Debi has been a professional dancer, teacher, and choreographer for more than 20 years!! In her professional career, she toured with the Broadway musical 42nd street, appeared in many musical theatre productions including West Side Story, Annie, Anything Goes, Sugar Babies, and Camelot to name a few. She has also danced at Walt Disney World in Beauty and the Beast, Hollywood Hollywood, and the Dick Tracy Show and many other productions in Japan and Europe. She has a Bachelor’s in Performing Arts from Oklahoma City University and a Masters in Education. Most recently she taught and choreographed at Wake Forest University, Pine Creek High School, and Danceworks!!! Aside from dancing, Debi has appeared in numerous national and regional television commercials, has been the spokes model for the Anthony’s stores and lent her voice to numerous radio spots!

Company Director

Julie began dancing with Robin Moore when she was 9 years old and has been teaching dance since 1997. She participated in Starpower’s National Power Pak tour, both as a dancer and as a team leader. Her specialties are Jazz, Pom, Lyrical, and Hip Hop. Julie attended the University of Northern Colorado where she received a Bachelors of Science Degree in Nursing in 2003. While at UNC, Julie was a member of the UNC Sugar Bears Dance Team and she coached this team her last two years of college. Julie has been an R.N.in the Labor and Delivery Unit at Memorial Hospital in Colorado Springs, where she was also a Maternal Flight Nurse. Julie is currently the Donor Nurse Coordinator at the Colorado Center for Reproductive Medicine in Denver.

Ballet Director

Corinne was a soloist with Colorado Ballet’s founding company and principal ballerina of the Denver Ballet Theatre. She has danced the leading roles in Sleeping Beauty, Nutcracker, Romeo and Juliet, Coppelia, Firebird and Sylvia among others as well as the Dying Swan, Magdalena in Messiah and numerous contemporary works. Corinne’s teaching experience spans 3 decades and includes training schools for several professional companies in Colorado. Her former students have gone on to dance with major companies including Miami City Ballet, Pacific Northwest Ballet, San Francisco Ballet, Joffrey Ballet, American Ballet Theatre Studio Company and the Rockettes.

Annette has been dancing she was 5 years old and teaching dance since 1983. She received most of her dance training at Studio One for the Performing Arts in North Little Rock, Arkansas. She has been teaching dance in Colorado Springs since 1999 and specializes in tap and combo classes. As a student, she received various dance awards at performances throughout the community. As an instructor, she has choreographed several award-winning routines and hopes to continue promoting the love of dance to all generations. In addition to dance, she has a BS in Accounting and also is a District 11 ESP staff member specializing in reading/math tutoring.

Wendy Hickox
Instructor

Wendy was born and raised in Colorado Springs and has been dancing and teaching for more than 20 years. She has experience in ballet, jazz, lyrical, tap, and poms. Wendy graduated from the University of Northern Colorado with a B.A. in Speech Communication with an emphasis in Elementary Education. In 2011, Wendy earned her Master’s degree in Curriculum, Instruction, and Assessment. Currently, Wendy teaches second grade in District 20. Wendy is a wife and the mother of two daughters and one son, and feels privileged to work with the students at Danceworks of Colorado Springs.

Katie Reynolds
Instructor

Katie is a native of the Colorado Springs area and began her dance training at the age of 3. She has been teaching for more than 18 years. She studied under the tutelage of many master instructors including but not limited to: Bill Evans, Marsha Fay Knight, Rozanne David, Robin Moore, Maryjen Gorska, and Margaret Stalder.  She attended The University of Wyoming on a full-ride dance scholarship and holds 2 bachelors in- Theatre/Dance and Spanish.  She also possesses a Colorado Teaching Degree and ACE fitness certification. Katie has had the privilege to teach most recently at UW, UCCS, Danceworks, Svetlana’s Dance Academy, Russell Middle School, Liberty High School, World Gym, The YMCA, and 24 hour fitness. Her professional experience includes dancing at the Kennedy Center, in The Tempest, Pepitos Story under Debbie Allen, Inana, The Nutcracker as well as musicals such as Guys and Dolls, and Crazy for You to name a few. Katie has won numerous awards in dance, choreography and teaching over the years. Her training lends itself to ballet, jazz, tap, modern, acro, lyrical, pilates, yoga, and kick boxing. Katie currently teaches middle School at Russell Middle School of the Performing Arts where she instructs in dance and World Language and Danceworks. Katie’s is passionate about sharing her love for dance with all students.

Brenda Zeman
Instructor

Brenda performed  and studied dance with Ballet Theatre, the Civic ballet of Pueblo and the Arts Center in Pueblo. She received a teaching degree from UCCS, and has been teaching dance for 30 years.
Brenda has taught at Dance Arts In Olean N.Y. as the Ballet Director, Randolph School Of Dance as the Ballet Director, Chautauqua Regional Youth Ballet as a Ballet Teacher, Encore of Colorado Springs as a Ballet Director, Rocky Mountain Dance Academy of Colorado Springs as a Ballet Director, and School of Music and Dance as a Ballet Director. Brenda is now enjoying being a part of the  Danceworks team.
Brenda has choreographed for children’s theatre and has won many regional and national choreography awards. Brenda is also proud to have helped 5 dancers get accepted into major dance schools and companies.
